Fontys Factory WAREHOUSE is a quest for the potentiality of recycling data. We are presenting the study of these possibilities during Dutch Design Week 2014. Design is changing; objects consist of function, matter and shape. We assume the following: Shape is data. We can translate any shape into binary digits. Data is becoming more important and valuable. 3D scanning and printing has changed the role of designers and designs forever. We give you a glimpse into the near future by investigating digital recycling. We’re researching the opportunities it offers technically, philosophically as well as artistically.
